Owners of Point of Sales (POS) devices are required by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to confine their activities to commercial zones.
On Wednesday, Umar Shuaibu, the coordinator for the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), issued the instruction.
According to Shuaibu, the administration would not let businesses to forcibly occupy critical sites.
The official said that the security of the nation’s capital was being threatened by their indiscriminate behaviour.
He said that the neighbourhood idea, which brings services closer to the people, was built into the Abuja Master Plan.
Shuaibu advised POS owners to be present in shopping malls, plazas, marketplaces, supermarkets, and gas stations.
The AMAC CEO urged the operators to speak with the property owners in order to conduct business on their property.
“Henceforth, all operators must relocate to commercial areas. This will help checkmate insecurity,” he added.
