The Francis Biobarakuma Foundation has announced the resounding success of the maiden Nembe-Se Youth Leadership Summit, held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Nembe City Hall, Bayelsa State.

The summit, themed “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Building Resilient Communities and Transformative Leadership,” brought together youth leaders, development stakeholders, and subject-matter experts to chart innovative strategies for leadership development and sustainable community transformation.

The event opened with prayers led by Mr. Bestmann Boye, followed by the national anthem. In his welcome address, the Founder and Convener, Engr. Francis Biobarakuma, set the tone for a day focused on vision, empowerment, and action.

Several goodwill messages hailed the summit as the first of its kind in Nembe-Se Kingdom, highlighting its historic nature and the need for continued youth-focused engagements.

Key Highlights

Keynote Address: Delivered by Mr. Prince Ebi Etolor on behalf of Hon. Tokini Igoin Peter, the speech laid a strong intellectual foundation for the discussions.

Community Resilience: Greatman Badom’s presentation emphasized inclusive growth through community engagement, support for local enterprises, technology adoption, and climate-smart solutions.

Panel Discussion: Enibo Albert, Barr. Ayebakuro Igbeta, and Mr. Zige Doubara (represented by Mr. Oyel Ramedia) tackled pressing issues on leadership, youth empowerment, and the responsible use of social media.

Transformative Leadership: David Ekiprebo Alfred urged youths to lead with purpose, innovation, and tenacity.

Economic Empowerment: Hon. Gifted Natus (represented by Ozu Importance) encouraged readiness for emerging opportunities.

Inclusive Leadership: Miracle Sylvester Ubah called for integrity, diversity, and representation in decision-making.

A surprise birthday celebration for Barr. Ayebakuro Igbeta added a personal touch to the day, with cake-cutting, prayers, and camaraderie.

Health and Education Focus

Pharmacists Akono Preye and Faith Obi educated participants on Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), offering prevention tips and free condoms, lubricants, and advocacy on safe practices.

In a notable highlight, Miss Enu Blessing, who scored 300 in the just-concluded JAMB exams—where 90% of candidates scored below 200—received an Award of Excellence and a scholarship from the Foundation.

New Initiative Launch

A pilot agricultural program was unveiled, supporting five individuals—including persons with disabilities—in cultivating pepper and vegetables in sacks, promoting climate-smart agriculture.
