“Hand of God”: Adeleke responds to the Supreme Court rejecting Babafemi’s appeal in Osun

Supreme Court affirms Adeleke’s election as Osun governor, seals Oyetola, APC’s defeat

Senator Ademola Adeleke, the newly elected governor of Osun State, has praised the Supreme Court decision that recognised him as the legitimate PDP candidate for governor in the July 16 election.

In a statement released by Rasheed Olawale, Adeleke’s spokesperson, on Thursday in Osogbo, he claimed that the case’s outcome was proof of the powerful “hand of God” working in his bid for governor.

He claims that the triumph is a tribute to God and the good citizens of the state, whose unwavering support has enabled him to continue since the death of my late brother.

Adeleke stated that he has always had a high faith in the judiciary, referring to the judges of the supreme court as “agents of truth and justice.”

“As I noted in my statement yesterday [Wednesday], this project is divine and it has come to stay.

“Our people voted for light and we must all defend and sustain that mandate built on our five-point agenda for good governance,” Adeleke said.

The governor was urged to begin compiling the notes he handed over, stating that “the people’s mandate remains sacrosanct.”

Remember how Prince Dotun Babayemi, one of the PDP’s candidates for governor, had contested Adeleke’s designation as the party’s nominee in court?

On March 8, the PDP in Osun State held two concurrent governorship primary elections.
