Hon. Caroline Sata-Owugha and other key women leaders, including Hon. Helen Akarogbe, all of the Bayelsa APC, accompanied the former Bayelsa state governor-elect yesterday as he picked up his interest and nomination form to contest in the forthcoming Bayelsa State governorship election.
According to Mrs. Caroline, “the mission is a divine one aimed at recovering his God-given mandate and, in return, positioning Bayelsa in her former place (the glory of all lands)”.
She continued by saying “the present political and social condition of the state clearly shows that Bayelsa has been governed by the wrong leaders, who were falsely imposed by the court and not by the people of Bayelsa State”.
Hon. Helen added by saying “the true character and qualities of a political leader are tested before and after an election, especially when the outcome doesn’t go in his favor. David Lyon, even after the heavy loss, didn’t cut paths with the people of Bayelsa; we all saw his contribution to the people of Bayelsa during the flood, and during the festive seasons, this man even does more than he used to, and the people can only rejoice when people like Lyon are put in charge of administration”.
