Prof. Is-Haq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has severed ties with all social media accounts that reflect his name.
Oloyede denied running a LinkedIn account and other accounts on social media with his name on them.
According to him, “criminal elements” were using the LinkedIn account to scam unwary members of the public.
Oloyede warned the public not to fall for scams while speaking through JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin.
A statement by Benjamin reads: “The attention of the Board has been drawn to a LinkedIn account purported to be the account of the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, and sending friend requests to members of the public. This is a ploy initiated with the sole aim of defrauding gullible members of the public.
“The Board wishes to state that Prof. Is-haq Oloyede does not own or operate any social media account, and neither has he asked anybody to open or manage one on his behalf.”
Oloyede does not fall under the category of individuals who manage profiles on LinkedIn and other social networking sites, according to the Board.
Unaware members of the public have been receiving friend requests from “unscrupulous elements” who have a LinkedIn account.
The account’s creators have made “bogus claims” that they can assist unwary members of the public in managing their careers, businesses, offering jobs, operating a research firm, or connecting them with business contacts.
