IJAW YOUTH COUNCIL (IYC) ELECTS NEW NATIONAL EXECUTIVES

Yenagoa In a closely contested election at Ijaw Ware in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has successfully elected its new national executives. The election, which took place after a previously postponed session due to the withdrawal of the former president, has now ushered in a fresh leadership to steer the affairs of the revered pressure group.

The newly elected IYC national executives are as follows:

  1. Comrade Jonathan LokpobiriPresident Comrade Lokpobiri emerged victorious in the keenly contested election, securing the highest votes among the nine candidates vying for the top leadership position. He has now assumed the responsibility of leading the IYC and representing the interests of the Ijaw ethnic group.
  2. Comrade Freedom AtigbiDeputy President As the newly elected Deputy President, Comrade Atigbi will play a crucial role in supporting the President and contributing to the organization’s vision and goals.
  3. Comrade Maobuye Nangi ObuSecretary General Comrade Obu has been elected as the Secretary General, responsible for overseeing the administrative and organizational functions of the IYC.
  4. Amb. Binaebi Yerin PrincewillNational Spokesman Amb. Princewill will serve as the official spokesperson for the IYC, communicating its positions and messages to the public and the media.
  5. Comrade Bright IkuliAssistant Secretary General Comrade Ikuli will assist the Secretary General in coordinating and managing various activities within the IYC.
  6. Comrade Victor-Gow AyebatariNational Financial Secretary As the National Financial Secretary, Comrade Ayebatari will be responsible for managing the council’s financial affairs and resources.
  7. Comrade Fani Amatoru PeremoboereTreasurer Comrade Peremoboere will oversee the financial transactions and budgetary matters of the IYC.
  8. Comrade Ari FekorighaDirector of Mobilization Comrade Fekorigha will take charge of mobilizing Ijaw youths and organizing various programs and initiatives.
  9. Comrade Abiye Bob-ManuelDeputy Director of Mobilization Comrade Bob-Manuel will support the Director of Mobilization in coordinating youth-oriented activities and campaigns.
  10. Comrade Miracle Iyaye – Woman Leader Comrade Iyeya’s election as the Woman Leader signifies a stronger voice and representation for the female members of the IYC.
  11. Barr. TamaratonyeLegal Adviser As the Legal Adviser, Barr. Tamaratonye will provide legal counsel and guidance to the IYC on matters of law and regulation.

The newly elected national executives are expected to work collaboratively and diligently in advancing the interests of the Ijaw people and promoting youth development in the region. With their mandate secured, the IYC anticipates a period of progressive and impactful leadership under their stewardship.
