A violent confrontation erupted between soldiers and armed assailants in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, Imo State, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.

PulseNets learned that the altercation occurred late in the night.

The clash unfolded in the Aba branch area, with reports confirming that several soldiers were ambushed and killed by the armed group.

A witness told PulseNets that the situation escalated rapidly, transforming the area into a warzone.

“Some non-state actors attacked and killed some soldiers in the area yesterday,” one source told PulseNets. “The entire place is ablaze, and troops have now taken control of nearby communities.”

Residents, gripped by fear, evacuated their homes as the night was engulfed in the sounds of gunfire. Families fled hastily, uncertain if or when they might return. “We are terrified,” one resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told PulseNets. “The gunfire still echoes in our ears. We don’t know what’s next. Ehime used to be peaceful, but now we’re unsure what’s happening.”
