INEC announces dates for Edo, Ondo guber polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has lamented the irregularities among political parties in Nigeria and noted them as a tough issue for the electoral umpire.

The INEC, during a stakeholders’ meeting organised by Positive Agenda Nigeria, noted changing of political party primaries date as one of cases that affect in the preparation for election.

The Osun INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Professor Abdulganiy Raji, revealed this while speaking.

This is as other stakeholders urged Nigerians to participate in the coming election, depicting it as the only way to hold politicians accountable for their failure.

They asked Nigerians to focus on the manifesto of candidates rather than voting personality or party in the coming election.

Presenting the report of the organisation, the Positive Agenda Nigeria Team Lead at Fountain University Osogbo, Dr Rasheed Adebiyi urged political parties to focus on social media campaigns.

“The media team and supporters of the main opposition party need to focus more attention on marketing their party and their standard bearers to the electorate across social media,” he noted
