The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, will on Friday address journalists over an ongoing investigation into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.
PulseNets reports that the press briefing is slated for 3 p.m. at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
The Lagos State Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made the development known Thursday evening during a telephone interview.
“The CP will be addressing the press tomorrow by 3 p.m. Come with all your questions and he will answer them. Until then, I can’t talk,” The Nation Newspaper quoted Hundeyin.
The CP is expected to give updates on arrests and invites made by the police in connection with the investigation.
This comes as the police continue to detain embattled singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and controversial music promoter Balogun Eletu, otherwise known as Sam Larry, over the case.
Naira Marley and Sam Larry were arrested on Wednesday and detained beyond the 48 hours constitutional provision after obtaining a remand warrant from the court.
The police have denied reports that the duo were arraigned on Wednesday, saying that they were only taken to court to obtain the remand warrant.
Mohbad died in Lagos on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day before his corpse was exhumed about a week later.

Many have accused Naira Marley and Sam Larry of having a hand in his death, an allegation they denied.
Meanwhile, Prime Boy, a friend of Mohbad, turned himself in to the police on Thursday, less than 24 hours after the Lagos State Police Command declared him wanted over his alleged failure to honour police invitation regarding the death of Mohbad.
The police are expected to give more details on the case at the press briefing on Friday.
