Former Rivers State governorship candidate Senator Magnus Abe has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abe, who defected from the party in the run-up to the 2023 elections, said he is back with the APC to enhance the good things President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing in the country.
The former senator had declared his intention on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” and vowed to dedicate his efforts to bolstering the legacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Politically, I am heading back for the APC,” Abe said.

He had contested the 2023 governorship election under the banner of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), ultimately losing to the Peoples Democratic Party’s Siminalayi Fubara. Following his gubernatorial bid, hopes for a ministerial appointment under President Tinubu’s administration also proved unfulfilled, with the slot eventually taken by former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike.
