The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), administration has alerted Nigerians about the actions of some dishonest people who are mimicking the scheme using dishonest ways online.
For the avoidance of doubt, the plan stated that there is no charge for any services provided by NYSC related to deployment, kit distribution to Corps members while they are at the Orientation Camp, lodging, feeding, posting, or relocation.
It stated that the general public, particularly students, potential Corps members, parents, guardians, Corps employers, and Corps members, should be sternly warned to beware of the actions of these people whose intention is to defraud them of their resources.
The scheme asked Nigerians to approach any State Secretariat of the NYSC or other formations across the country to seek clarification on matters impacting the Scheme, according to a statement signed by Eddy Megwa, its Director of Press and Public Relations.
“In addition, there are up-to-date information on the programmes and activities of the NYSC, which can guide Members of the public on the authenticity and verification of all activities of the Scheme on NYSC Social Media platforms namely; OFFICIALNYSC on Facebook, OFFICIALNYSCNG on Twitter and Instagram, NYSCDHQ on YouTube, registration portal – WWW.NYSC.GOV.NG and website – WWW.NYSC.ORG.NG.” the statement said.
“Henceforth, Management states that the full weight of the law would be applied on any individual or group of persons found advertising anything that borders on the policy of the Scheme on the Social Media.”
