Nollywood: Marriage Can Wait, says fast rising actress, Laurel Chris

Fast-rising Nollywood actress Laurel Chris, who is from Imo State, spoke with our news reporter in an hour-long exclusive interview about marriage and fame. She stated that, for the time being, marriage is not a top priority for her because she values other aspects of her life more. “Yes, I will get married. But I value my career and my life more than seeking a partner for marriage. Marriage is one of the things that can be a limiting factor for me at this time in my career.”

She did, however, reveal that she began her acting career in Port Harcourt in 2019, following the completion of her diploma program, where she made her debut in the film “Port Harcourt Husbands.” While she began acting as a young age in theater groups, church performances, and school productions. Other films, TV shows, and web series she has appeared in include Round D Clock, King in the Streets, Palava in Uniform, The Camp, and more. She is well-known for portraying MANDY in the popular online series “Jagaban.” Also, she is the Executive Producer, Creator, and Host of the Instagram Live program THE GIST WITH LAUREL (TGWL), which she started in 2021. She also creates original digital content.

Nze Lauretta Chiamaka

Nze Lauretta Chiamaka, often known as Laurel Chris, was born in Abuja, Nigeria. She is an Imo State native and comes from Owalla Avuvu in the Ikeduru local government area. Of the four girls, she is the first. She attended both St. Luke’s Primary School and Faith Foundation Primary School in Abuja. She attended Blessed Model Secondary in Oyigbo, Rivers State, for her secondary education. She graduated from the Federal Polytechnic in Oko, Anambra State, with a diploma in science laboratory technology. On September 21, 1997, she was born as Nze Lauretta Chiamaka (age 25). “For now, my aims are breaking into the entertainment sector, setting a pace for myself, and leaving my mark on the industry; anything else doesn’t really matter to me.”

She, however, did not disclose to us the state of her relationship, whether she is single or in a relationship.
She accounts for her challenges starting up her career and says, “It’s one of those things you will encounter on your path to success. You have to face so many distractions, disappointments, and personal issues that can discourage you, but the best thing anyone can do for themselves is self-encouragement and determination to succeed against all odds.”
