Michael Owen, a former striker for Manchester United and Liverpool, praised Casemiro after the Brazilian’s outstanding display against Tottenham in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
The Brazilian required a few weeks to make it into Erik ten Hag’s starting XI after moving to Manchester United in a £70 million transfer from Real Madrid over the summer.
The 30-year-influence old’s on his Brazilian teammate Fred, who also shone against Tottenham and scored the game’s first goal early in the second half, is also positive.
“I defy anyone that’s half competent not to be able to play with Casemiro, he simply reads the game so well he must be a joy to play with,” Owen said to Premier League Productions. He has experience, knowledge, and a winning mentality.
“Casemiro is here to stay. Whether it’s McTominay or Fred I think he likes having those two sitting players, and then they’ve got so much attacking ability.
“They don’t need any more potency in midfield they are creating enough already.”
