Mohbad: Second Autopsy Set to Be Conducted

What autopsy report says about cause of Mohbad’s death – Pathologist

Ten months after the controversial death of musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, his family has been granted permission to conduct a second autopsy.

The decision comes after the family expressed dissatisfaction with the initial autopsy results, which failed to determine the cause of death.

Mohbad, 27, died on September 12, 2023, under unclear circumstances. This led to calls for justice.

PulseNets reports that his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). However, the autopsy report released on June 7 failed to provide conclusive evidence of the cause of death, citing body decomposition and potential reactions to medications he received before his death.

The Aloba family rejected the results and demanded the Lagos State Government confirm the autopsy’s authenticity due to public doubts and conflicting reports. The family also appealed to the coroner’s inquest to ensure an independent toxicology report is submitted to the court before the final report is submitted to the authorities.

The coroner’s inquest, responsible for determining the identity of the deceased, time, cause, and manner of death, revealed that the first autopsy provided no conclusive cause of death.
