Mr P Breaks Silence on P-Square Split, Challenges Paul Okoye to Disprove His Version
Nigerian singer and songwriter Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has finally spoken about the circumstances that led to the breakdown of his relationship with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, widely known as Rudeboy.
The singer addressed the long-running controversy in a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, where he presented his account of the events and challenged anyone, including his twin brother, to provide evidence that contradicts his claims.
Sharing the video alongside a caption, Peter wrote: “I’ve watched lies travel farther than the truth. Today, I’m finally giving the truth a voice.”
In the video, Mr P explained that he decided to address the issue publicly because many people have continued to speculate about what caused the rift without knowing what truly happened.
According to the singer, he had previously apologised on the same platform where the original post that triggered the controversy was published.
“I am going to speak my truth Today. I challenge anybody, including my twin brother. Anybody can provide a video,” Peter said.
He continued: “I hear a lot of people saying, ‘What exactly happened to this guy?’ because most of you don’t even know what happened to us. But Today, I am going to say it.”
PulseNets learnt that the fallout between Peter and Paul became public after years of disagreements over their music career, management structure, financial matters and creative direction.
PulseNets further learnt that their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who managed the P-Square music group for several years, was reportedly at the centre of some of the issues that contributed to the dispute.
The twin brothers, who rose to fame as the iconic music duo P-Square, officially parted ways in 2017 after spending more than a decade performing and recording hit songs together.

Following the split, both artistes launched separate careers, with Paul continuing under the stage name Rudeboy, while Peter pursued his solo career as Mr P.
