“They Said I’d Never Succeed After Mimicking Davido, Nasboi recounts his story
Nigerian entertainer, singer, and comedian Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, popularly known as Nasboi, recently reflected on his journey and the challenges he faced early in his career.
He shared that many people doubted his potential, saying he would “amount to nothing” after his initial fame from mimicking the famous Nigerian artist Davido.
Despite these negative predictions, Nasboi has proven his critics wrong by achieving notable success and growth over the past four years. He expressed gratitude for his journey and the progress he has made in the entertainment industry.
Popular content creator and singer, Nasboi, has reflected on the negative predictions made about his career during his early days as a struggling creative.
While celebrating his fourth year in the Nigerian entertainment industry, the ‘Small Money’ crooner claimed that some people said he would amount to nothing after mimicking afrobeats megastar, Davido.
He said, contrary to the negative predictions, he’s still buzzing after four years and getting bigger.
On his X handle, Nasboi wrote: “Reminded, I’m that guy that people said after this mimicking @davido nothing for me. lol…. 4 years later, still here. Na God! Watch me grow bigger.”

Nasboi also relished his upcoming collaboration with legendary singer, 2Baba whom he described as his mentor.
“If I follow plenty talk for twitter I for no dey move. Most importantly, the boy dey grow everyday…. Biggest achievement is having a track with my idolo 2Baba. It’s gonna be so big,” he said.
