Nigeria Immigration Service Schedules Passport Platform Maintenance, Warns of Temporary Service Disruptions
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise on its Passport Digital Platform, a development expected to cause temporary service disruptions for applicants and existing users.
According to information learnt by PulseNets, Immigration spokesman Akinsola Akinlabi confirmed the maintenance window in a statement issued on Friday. He disclosed that the system upgrade will run from 12:00 a.m. on December 12 to 6:00 a.m. on December 14, 2025 (GMT).
In his words, “The Nigeria Immigration Service wishes to inform the general public that it is conducting routine maintenance on its Passport Digital Platform to improve system efficiency and enhance the overall user experience.”
Akinlabi further cautioned that the exercise will temporarily affect service accessibility. “During this period, users may encounter service interruptions, reduced response speeds, or limited access to certain NIS Passport services,” he said, noting that the disruptions are unavoidable during the optimisation process.
