1. Lamido Sanusi, the ousted Emir of Kano and vice chairman of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency, expressed sympathy for the future president who will follow President Muhammadu Buhari due to the country’s impoverished economy yesterday. He claimed that Nigeria’s economy is inextricably linked to the oil and gas sector, and that the withdrawal of subsidies is rapidly slowing the country’s growth.
2. Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and three of his southern counterparts have departed on a foreign tour for the sixth time, this time to Spain. Abdulafeez, who was claimed to have fled the scene after committing the murder, was also accused of stabbing and injuring an 18-year-old Sawiyu Nasrup in Iwo’s Soba Area.
5. In the early hours of Saturday, terrorists killed two villagers in Gidan Diyam and kidnapped two others in Dayi community, Malumfashi Local Government Area, Katsina State. Ejike Hyginus, widely known as ‘Yellow,’ a building material trader, and Mustapha, a health worker linked to the Dayi Primary Healthcare, were also kidnapped.
6. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, has promised to tackle bandits if elected in 2023. Tinubu stated his confidence in leading the country during the 7th edition of the Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit.
