At his home in the Gboko region of Benue State, Ayu made the comment while speaking to his Jemgba family members.

The LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, urged the people of Nasarawa State to vote for competence as they kicked off the campaign at the Science School field in Lafia.

6. The arrest of an APC member, Mr. Ebikopoemi Bobby Ugo, on suspicion of defamation has caused a rift between the Bayelsa State Chapter of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). According to investigations, the Anti-Kidnapping Team of the Bayelsa State Police Command invited Ugo and three other people in response to claims of character assassination.

7. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) responded to claims made by the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, that her Ministry was kept in the dark by the apex bank in the ongoing process of redesigning the N200, N500, and N1,000 bank notes, yesterday, in an effort to avoid what could snowball into bitter inter-agency rivalry.

8. The Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization disputed a Fitch Ratings projection that Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would win the 2023 presidential election. Kola Ologbondiyan, the campaign’s spokesperson, slammed the story as “merely contrived, imaginary and completely illusory” in a statement released yesterday.

9. An undefined number of persons were slain in a communal dispute between two bordering communities in the LGAs of Gamawa and Zaki in Bauchi State, and one guy was shot in the eye, rendering him blind.

In a remark he made yesterday, he claimed that 80 percent of Nigerians, particularly those who live in rural areas, rely on cash transactions.
