Nigerians have been called upon to participate in an industrial strike action scheduled for March 1 in response to the recent hike in telecommunications tariffs.
The strike was announced by the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) on Thursday, February 13.
PulseNets reported that the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the NLC, after a meeting in Lokoja, Kogi State, resolved to proceed with the strike if telecommunication companies fail to revert to the previous tariff structure.
The decision came following a 50 per cent increase in telecom charges.
