No one should compel you to vote against your conscience — Buhari

In the federal elections in 2023, President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians not to be scared to voice their ideas.

Nobody has the right to force someone to vote against their conscience, the president declared, according to Professor Isah Pantani, the minister of communication and the digital economy.

He said this at the 37th National Qur’anic Recitation Competition’s concluding ceremony in Gusau, the State’s capital, and thanked the State administration for supporting the event.

The President emphasised that if Muslims and Christians can study the Qur’an and Bible thoroughly, nothing can disturb the tranquilly of the nation. He also urged the politicians and leaders with defending their positions by treating their constituents fairly.

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle stated in his address that the state’s high level of insecurity was a factor in his choice to host the tournament and that he hoped it would have a significant influence on the lives of the people.

“The Quaran remains the greatest guiding principle in the lives and deeds of the Muslims. I, therefore, pray that the occasion would attract righteousness among the people”

He said that his government will continue to place a high premium on Islamic principles and emphasised how Islam can both help all Muslims find direction and lessen the state’s raging insecurity.
