The Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education in Kumbotso, Kano State, has been elevated to the level of a university.
Professor Abubakar Rasheed, Executive Secretary of the National University Commission, NUC, announced the elevation in a letter of recognition to Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Tuesday in Abuja.
The NUC president praised the governor for establishing the university, emphasizing that the institution would help the state satisfy its educational needs.
“Having met the requirements, consequence upon the receipt of your letter and the former presentation of necessary documents, I write on behalf of NUC that with effect from Tuesday, 14 February 2023, Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education is recognised as the 61st state and 221st University Nigeria.
“By this recognition letter, JAMB, TETFund and NYSC have been notified of the establishment of this university,” he said.
