BREAKING: One Killed as Bayelsa Governorship Election Turns Violent

In Famgbe, Bayelsa State, a clash between supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) resulted in a fatality.

PulseNets reports the incident occurred during a confrontation on Saturday, leaving multiple individuals injured. Ovie Ogbara, the younger brother of Benjamin Ogbara, an APC Bayelsa State House of Assembly aspirant in 2021, was among those harmed.

The violence erupted as loyalists from both the APC and PDP attempted to intimidate each other at polling units. The situation escalated into a shooting incident, with casualties reported. A resident informed the media that one person had been fatally shot in Famgbe, and accreditation for the election had not yet commenced.
