Over 80 children are abducted in Zamfara by bandits

Following killings of Fulanis, terrorists order Zamfara communities to stop using popular market

Almost 80 children have been kidnapped by bandits in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government District.

The children, who range in age from 12 to 17, were taken on Friday morning, according to BBC Hausa.

The victims’ parents claimed that when they were in the bush during the early hours, the attackers collected them up and led them into the woodland.

Despite many government efforts to stop the criminal activity, bandits have persisted in their activities in the dangerous Zamfara region.

Several hundred schoolchildren have been abducted. Several were eventually freed after paying ransom for their release.

As of the time the BBC reported the kidnapping, the kidnappers had not yet managed to contact the parents to lay any demands.
