Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has paid a courtesy visit to former President Goodluck Jonathan as part of his New Year activities, PulseNets learnt.
The visit closely followed Obi’s earlier engagement with former military president General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida in Minna, Niger State.
Sharing moments from the meeting, Obi took to the social media platform X on Thursday, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to discuss critical national issues with Jonathan. PulseNets reported that Obi met Jonathan in Abuja during the visit.
“Finally, on returning to Abuja yesterday, I caught up with my dear elder brother and Former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan @GEJonathan, to also wish him a happy new year. I also had the opportunity of discussing germane national issues with him,” Obi wrote.
He continued, “President Jonathan’s patriotic approach to national issues remain admirable. I appreciate his kind advice and guidance and I wish him and his family a happy and productive year ahead.
