Police apprehend two suspected thugs for disrupting APC rally in Rivers

Two alleged thugs suspected of disrupting political gatherings in the state have been detained by Rivers State Police command agents.

In a conversation with journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, corroborated this.

The thugs reportedly attacked the All Progressives Congress, APC, rally site in Eleme Local Government Area of the State on Tuesday with the purpose to cause mayhem, but two of them got lucky and were caught by the police.

The suspects, according to Iringe-Koko, have been given to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a covert investigation.

The police also displayed weapons and ammunition that had been taken from the accused by security officials stationed at the APC rally’s location.

According to PULSENETS, opposition party rallies have been disrupted and there have been isolated incidents of violence in Rivers State.

Some opposition party leaders have accused the governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, of attempting to sabotage the campaigns of rival political parties in the state.
