Secondus, Omehia, Opara Cleared to Attend PDP NEC Meetings After Court Ruling

Former National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, alongside former Governor Celestine Omehia and former Deputy Speaker, House of Reps, Austin Opara, have been granted clearance by the court to participate in the meetings of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the PDP.

This groundbreaking decision comes as the court nullified a previous judgment obtained by Nyesom Wike, controversially barring the three esteemed party leaders from participating in PDP NEC gatherings.

The matters came for hearing today 15th April 2024 and adjourned to 16th April 2024 for all three defendants motion for stay of execution of the exparte orders granted on 5th April 2024 intended to stop them from attending all relevant meetings of the party fixed for 17″ and 18* April, 2024.

The three applicants named above and who are being prevented from attending the meetings had their appeals entered with a similar motion for stay of execution at Court of Appeal, Abuja.

The implications of the various motions for stay of execution is that the exparte orders cannot be enforced against the three persons namely, Dr. Austin Adiele Opara, Sir Celestine Omehia and Prince Uche Secondus save until the hearing and determination of the said motions one way or the other.
