Nigeria’s Vice-President, Kashim Shettima, is set to unveil the country’s 2026 economic outlook at the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) holding in Davos, Switzerland.

This was disclosed in a statement obtained by PulseNets on Sunday and signed by the vice-president’s spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha.

PulseNets learnt that Mr Shettima has arrived in Davos, where he is leading Nigeria’s official delegation to the high-level global economic gathering.

On his arrival, the vice-president was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yussuf Tuggar; the Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; alongside senior officials of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission.

According to the statement, Mr Shettima will take part in several plenary sessions focusing on the responsible use of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology.

“Over the course of the forum, the Vice-President will engage in a series of bilateral meetings with heads of state, global corporate leaders, and international development finance institutions,” the statement noted.
“These engagements are aimed at strengthening strategic partnerships in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”

PulseNets reported that the 2026 WEF meeting represents a significant milestone in Nigeria’s economic diplomacy, with the country making its official debut of Nigeria House Davos.

For the first time, the Nigerian government has established a sovereign pavilion along the Davos Promenade, marking a new phase in its global investment and diplomacy strategy.

“Nigeria House Davos, delivered through a successful Public-Private Partnership, will function as a central hub for ministerial engagements, investment roundtables, and cultural diplomacy throughout the forum,” the statement added.

“Our focus areas include solid minerals, climate-smart and sustainable agriculture, the creative economy, and the digital sector, all of which we will present to global investors.”
