The Supreme Court in Abuja will on Monday hear and possibly deliver judgment on the appeal instituted by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Patrick Tonye Cole, against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
One of the prayers of Tonye Cole is that Fubara did not resign as Accountant General of the state way past the deadline stipulated by the constitution and the Electoral Act.
Hence, Tonye Cole is insisting that Fubara was not qualified to contest the election, let alone be declared winner of the election by INEC.
This, among other pleas of the APC candidate, is what the apex court will consider later today.
