Teen Arrested in New Mexico for Alleged Quadruple Homicide of Family Members

PulseNets has learnt that on Sunday, authorities in New Mexico arrested a 16-year-old boy following an alleged quadruple homicide involving his family members.

In a statement made available to PulseNets, the New Mexico State Police confirmed that the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office received an early morning 911 emergency call on Saturday from a male minor who confessed to killing his family.

PulseNets gathered that upon arriving at the scene in Belen, deputies encountered the 16-year-old suspect exiting the home with his hands raised. Officers noted that he appeared to be highly intoxicated.

“Deputies entered the residence to find Leonardo Leyva, 42, Adriana Bencomo, 35, Adrian Leyva, 16, and Alexander Leyva, 14, all deceased from suspected gunshot wounds. A handgun was located on the kitchen table,” state police disclosed.

A Belen official who spoke to PulseNets identified the victims as the suspect’s parents and two brothers.

The police told PulseNets that the teen has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder.
