The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has pledged his support to promote Nigeria at the upcoming World Travel Market (WTM) event in London, as confirmed by the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA).

NANTA’s National President, Susan Akporiaye, made this significant announcement in a statement as part of preparations for the 2023 WTM, scheduled for November 6 to 8 in London.

Akporiaye expressed her enthusiasm for the Ooni of Ife’s involvement, highlighting the potential impact on Nigeria’s cultural tourism heritage and the global community’s interest in Nigerian royalty.

She went on to describe the forthcoming event as a historic occasion and anticipated an unprecedented level of attention and participation, especially due to Oba Ogunwusi’s significant presence.

“I can imagine the pull and shove expected by lovers of Nigerian royalty and at most significant presence of Oba Ogunwusi.

“It is going to be the most unprecedented event in the history of Nigeria.

“Indeed, the world will be excited to meet one of the icons of our revered traditional rulers,” she said.

In addition, Akporiaye mentioned that approximately 100,000 NANTA members have expressed their strong interest in actively participating in the vibrant tourism initiative aimed at promoting Nigeria.

“We at NANTA are committed to showcasing Nigeria and interested in helping out in the promotion and marketing of Nigerian cultural tourism assets.
