Timi Frank, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy national publicity secretary, criticised the majority decision of the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which reportedly dismissed Governor Ademola Adeleke, as being seriously flawed.
The judgement, according to Frank, fell short of expectations and did not represent the views of the majority of Osun residents who freely elected Adeleke as governor, according to a statement he released on Friday in response to the ruling.
In light of this, he urged the National Judicial Council to look into the ruling immediately and to punish any panel members who were found to have compromised their integrity.
Frank also urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to look into the judges who authored the majority judgement immediately and to bring charges against anyone who was found to have made a decision based on factors other than the actual evidence presented at the case’s hearing.
He pledged that Nigerians would not stand by and allow the court to once again be used as a backdoor means of stealing Adeleke’s mandate.
Frank, however, advised the people of Osun to be peaceful and law-abiding with the conviction that the mandate given to Adeleke will be recovered at the appellate court.
