BREAKING: President Tinubu dissolves boards of all parastatals, agencies, institutions

Controversies as Tinubu’s unknown whereabouts ignite political debate

President Bola Tinubu has taken the decision to dissolve the governing boards of all federal government parastatals, agencies, institutions, and government-owned companies with immediate effect. This action has been carried out in accordance with constitutional powers and in the interest of the public.

It is important to note that the dissolution does not apply to boards, commissions, and councils listed in the Third Schedule, Part 1, Section 153 (i) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.

During this period of board dissolution, the chief executive officers of the parastatals, agencies, institutions, and government-owned companies are instructed to refer any matters requiring board attention to the President through the Permanent Secretaries of their respective supervisory ministries and offices.

To ensure proper communication, Permanent Secretaries are directed to forward such correspondences to the President through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Therefore, all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies must comply with the provisions of this directive, which took effect from Friday, June 16, 2023.

Permanent Secretaries are specifically instructed to inform the chief executive officers of the affected agencies under the supervision of their respective ministries/offices, ensuring immediate compliance with this directive.
