U.S. Lawmaker Riley Moore Prepares Brief for Trump After Witnessing ‘Horrific’ Attacks on Nigerian Christians
A United States lawmaker, Riley Moore, has revealed that he is finalising a detailed brief for President Donald Trump, setting out a framework for deeper, structured cooperation with the Nigerian government aimed at halting what he describes as an escalating campaign of violence against Christians across the country.
The update followed his return from a recent visit to Nigeria, where he held high-level engagements and met communities affected by years of insecurity. According to insights learnt by PulseNets, Moore’s delegation included interactions with senior government officials, among them the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The U.S. Representative also travelled to Benue State, where he met Bishops Anagbe and Dugu, alongside the Tor Tiv. During these meetings, Moore interacted with internally displaced Christian families who told PulseNets they had suffered repeated attacks, allegedly carried out by armed Fulani groups operating across the Middle Belt.
One of the most disturbing testimonies, obtained by PulseNets from Moore’s account of the trip, involved a woman who reportedly watched as militants brutally killed her five children.
In a post shared on X, the U.S. lawmaker wrote:
“I have just returned from a Congressional delegation to Nigeria with the House Appropriations Committee.”
He continued, highlighting the grim conditions in Benue:
“While there, we visited Benue State. We met with Bishops Anagbe and Dugu, and Tor Tiv. We also met suffering IDPs, all of whom are Christians. They are forced to live in camps that are regularly attacked by Fulani Islamic radicals.”
The Representative described the testimonies he heard as deeply distressing:
“We heard heartbreaking testimonies from survivors of this horrific genocidal campaign carried out by the Fulani, including a woman who was made to watch as five of her children were killed.”
Moore further disclosed the next steps of his engagement:
“I am currently preparing a report for President Donald Trump, outlining a coordinated and cooperative path for working with the Nigerian Government to end the slaughter of innocent Christians in the Middle Belt and to confront the ongoing terrorist threat in the North-East.”
