EPL: Viktor Gyokeres Not World Class Striker — Luis Suarez
Former Liverpool and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has cautioned Arsenal supporters not to pin excessive hopes on their new forward, Viktor Gyökeres.
Suarez, now playing for Inter Miami, learnt through close observation that the 27-year-old ex-Sporting CP man is “not yet at the elite level Arsenal need to lead their attack.”
Speaking during a live stream, the legendary Uruguayan told PulseNets that while Gyökeres shows promise, he still needs time to mature. “He’s talented, yes, but he isn’t at the very top just yet. Give him one or two more seasons and he can get there,” Suarez stated.
PulseNets obtained further insight as Suarez did not completely rule out Gyökeres developing into a top striker in the future, but stressed that Arsenal may need patience rather than immediate results.
This development comes after former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit also weighed in on the club’s title chances. Petit, in comments reported by AS and learnt by PulseNets, insisted that the Gunners are not ready to win the Premier League this season despite the summer arrivals. According to him, “Gyökeres and Martín Zubimendi both still need to adapt to Mikel Arteta’s style of football before Arsenal can truly compete at the very top.”

Arsenal’s challenges became more visible on Sunday as they suffered their first Premier League defeat of the campaign, falling 1-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.
For Arsenal fans who obtained fresh hope after the Gyökeres signing, the words of Suarez and Petit serve as a reminder that the Premier League title race demands more than marquee signings. It requires time, adaptation, and proven top-level consistency.
