WAFCON: We haven’t received Tinubu’s $100k gift — Ajibade
The captain of Nigeria’s women national team, Rasheedat Ajibade, has disclosed that they are yet to receive the $100,000 cash reward promised by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Tinubu had announced the gift for the Super Falcons during a reception held in their honour after winning this year’s Women Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
In addition to the money, the players and coaching crew were promised houses and conferred with national honours.
Ajibade, who spoke to media personality Chude Jideonwo in an interview monitored by PulseNets, claimed they have not received any of the pledges.
“We have not received our money, but hopefully, it would be paid,” Ajibade said.
“They have not paid, all the promises, we have not received anything.”
