During a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President welcomed Mr. Bill Gates, co-founder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Aliko Dangote Foundation. He commended their dedication and partnership in working for the betterment of humanity.

President Tinubu assured them that his administration would do everything necessary to support and ensure the success of their work in Nigeria and across Africa, particularly in the eradication of diseases such as polio, measles, malaria, and others from the continent. He acknowledged that there are challenges, including budgetary constraints and funding issues, which need to be addressed.

The President also commended Bill Gates for his efforts in tackling climate change and eliminating polio and malaria in Africa. He encouraged the philanthropist to continue raising awareness about the issues faced by developing countries, emphasizing that his voice is vital in advocating for their needs.

Aliko Dangote, speaking to the media after the visit, congratulated President Tinubu on his election and successful assumption of office. He shared that the purpose of their visit was to update the President on the activities of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Aliko Dangote Foundation, specifically highlighting their commitment to improving the health sector in Nigeria. He expressed their readiness to further collaborate with the government in achieving common goals.
