Chinese President Xi Jinping has strongly urged BRICS member countries (aka BRICS NAtions) to close ranks in defense of multilateralism and the global trading system. The call was made on Monday during a virtual BRICS Summit held in Beijing.

In his keynote remarks, President Xi obtained by PulseNets, he underscored the responsibility of BRICS as a bloc at the forefront of the Global South. “At this pivotal moment, BRICS nations must carry forward the spirit of openness, inclusiveness and mutual benefit.
