Ukraine war: Russian bombers are stopped by US Air Force fighter jets

The US military claims that two of its Air Force fighters have stopped two Russian bombers that were passing through international airspace close to Alaska.

This information was released on Tuesday by NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command.

The incident occurs during a difficult time for relations between the United States and Russia.

Recall that the US actively assisted Ukraine in its conflict with Russia by providing both military and humanitarian help.

The Biden administration has imposed penalties on Moscow and Russian billionaires in addition to arming Ukraine.

The following is an excerpt from the NORAD statement: “detected, tracked, positively identified and intercepted” the two Russian Tu-95 Bear-H bombers “entering and operating within the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

“They were intercepted by a pair of F-16 fighter jets”.
