Super Eagles duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi are back in the Premier League after securing promotion with Leicester City for the 2024/25 season following Leeds United’s loss to QPR on Friday.
QPR helped Leicester City get over the line early after the Rangers thrashed second-place Leeds United 4-0 at Loftus Road Stadium in the penultimate matchday of the 2023/24 EFL Championship season.
Leicester City, with 94 points, four ahead of Leeds and five ahead of third-placed Ipswich Town, who have played two games less, can win the title on Monday if Hull City beat Ipswich on Saturday and Leicester win against Preston in their penultimate game.
After one season of playing in the English second division following Leicester City’s relegation at the end of the 2022/23 season, Iheanacho and Ndidi can once again boast of playing at the highest level of football if they remain with the club next season.
Since Leicester City have now secured one of the two automatic promotion tickets to the Premier League, the trio of Leeds United, Ipswich Town and Southampton will fight for the last automatic spot.
