Lagos Teacher Arraigned for Allegedly Abusing Three-Year-Old Boy

The Lagos teacher accused of abusing a three-year-old boy for failing to write the number six has pleaded not guilty before a Magistrate Court, PulseNets has learnt.

Stella Nwadigbo, a staff member of Christ-Mitots International School, Ikorodu, was arraigned on Thursday, January 9, 2025, before Magistrate M.O. Kusanu at the Ogba Magistrate Court for allegedly assaulting the minor, Abayomi Michael, in an incident that went viral on social media.

PulseNets reported that Nwadigbo was arrested by operatives from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (LDSVA) before being arraigned. During the proceedings, she entered a plea of not guilty to the charges brought against her.

In a statement released by the LDSVA, the agency disclosed, “Following the ongoing viral case of child abuse, all concerned parties appeared today, 9th January 2024, at the Ogba Magistrate Court. (sic).

“The matter was assigned to Magistrate M.O. Kusanu. Two charges were read to the suspect, to which she plead not guilty,” the statement read.

PulseNets learnt that the court ordered Nwadigbo’s remand in a correctional facility until she fulfills her bail conditions, which were set at ₦200,000 alongside two verifiable sureties.

“The suspect has been remanded in a correctional facility, and the case is adjourned to the 18th January 2024 for trial,” the LDSVA added.
