2Baba’s ‘African Queen’ tops Billboard Best Afrobeats Songs of All-Time list
American music magazine Billboard has officially released its much-anticipated ranking of the Top 50 Best Afrobeats Songs of All-Time, PulseNets learnt.
According to the list curated by the Billboard staff, 2Baba Idibia’s evergreen and controversial hit, ‘African Queen,’ claimed the number one spot, cementing its legacy as the greatest Afrobeats song ever.
Interestingly, Wizkid emerged as the only artist with two songs in the top 10, PulseNets reported. His cult-classic ‘Ojuelegba’ secured the number 2 position, while his global smash hit ‘Essence’ featuring Tems came in at number 5.
Meanwhile, Favour’s iconic ‘Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)’ ranked third, with Rema’s international chartbuster ‘Calm Down’ clinching the fourth position.

Notably, Styl-Plus’ classic ‘Olufunmi’ came in at number 11, while 9ice’s ‘Gongo Aso’ claimed the 12th position. Billboard further listed P-Square’s ‘Do Me’ at number 13 and Davido’s ‘Dami Duro’ at number 14, PulseNets reported.
On the female front, Yemi Alade was recognised as the highest-ranked female lead artist, with her continental hit ‘Johnny’ placing 15th.
