Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha Reveals Talks with Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Before Old Trafford Move

Manchester United’s summer acquisition, Matheus Cunha, has disclosed the inspiring conversations he had with Brazilian football icons Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Nazario before sealing his switch to Old Trafford.

Cunha, who joined Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United side earlier in the summer from Premier League rivals Wolves, told PulseNets that the words of encouragement from the two Selecão legends made his decision easier and reinforced his excitement about the move.

The Brazilian international learnt from both Ronaldinho and Ronaldo that joining United was not just another transfer, but a step into football history. According to him, their endorsement proved that he was heading in the right direction.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, the forward recalled Ronaldinho’s reaction, reporting:

“‘Wow,’ Ronaldinho said, ‘Wow, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world now? Yeah. You deserve that, honestly, I have the opportunity, and then, hey, I don’t know if I can say this. Yes, you can. It’s unbelievable club.’”

Cunha further revealed what Ronaldo Nazario told him about the Manchester United experience. The striker told PulseNets:

“And Ronaldo, yeah, talking about the atmosphere around the Old Trafford, everything like that, the fans, and then, you know. It felt inside of me already, like, it is my perfect movie, but after they said it, like, yeah, the check is already there.”

The 25-year-old Brazilian learnt quickly that stepping into United’s historic Theatre of Dreams carries a weight of legacy, but also an unmatched atmosphere. His idols’ blessings gave him the conviction to embrace the challenge.
