Sean “Diddy” Combs Sentenced to 50 Months in U.S. Prison Over Sex-Related Crimes — Judge Says “This Was Subjugation”
A federal court in New York has sentenced American hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs to 50 months in prison, imposed a $500,000 fine, and ordered five years of supervised release after finding him guilty of sex-related crimes.
Presiding judge Arun Subramanian delivered the verdict on Friday, convicting the music executive on two counts of transporting women for prostitution, barely four months after a jury acquitted him of racketeering and sex trafficking charges on July 2, 2025.
According to court documents obtained by PulseNets, Judge Subramanian described the available evidence as “massive and deeply disturbing,” adding that the length and severity of the conduct, which spanned over a decade, justified the stiff sentence. He stressed that the punishment was meant to “send a message of deterrence.”
Diddy, who publicly apologised during the proceedings, admitted that his actions were “disgusting, shameful, and sick.”
The judge, while addressing the case, said the star’s involvement in commercial sex acts was driven more by personal gratification than profit, but clarified that this did not reduce the seriousness of the crime. Judge Subramanian said he remained “unconvinced that Mr Combs would not reoffend if released early.”
PulseNets learnt that the court also dismissed claims by the defence that Diddy’s relationship with Casandra Ventura (popularly known as Cassie) and another witness identified as “Jane” was consensual and intimate. The judge held that both women were coerced and exploited under what the U.S. “Mann Act” defines as illegal transportation of persons for sexual activity.
In a statement captured during sentencing, the judge told Diddy, “You abused them physically, emotionally, and psychologically. You had the money and power to keep it going. This was subjugation.”
PulseNets reported that one of the key evidences was a hotel surveillance video showing Diddy assaulting Cassie, which he acknowledged in court, saying, “I know I’ll never put my hands on another person again.”
The judge emphasised that both victims endured lasting trauma and were likely to live with the psychological scars for the rest of their lives.
Prosecutors had initially sought an 11-year prison term, but Diddy’s legal team appealed for a lighter sentence of 14 months, equivalent to his time already spent in detention.

However, the court opted for a longer sentence, citing the scale and repeated nature of the offences.
A court source told PulseNets that the 55-year-old rapper, who has been in federal custody since September 2024, will receive credit for time served, reducing his remaining prison term slightly below the full 50 months.
