Brymo Accuses 2Face, Burna Boy, Davido of Knowing About Alleged Cult Recruitment

Nigerian singer Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo, has accused fellow musicians 2Face Idibia, Burna Boy and Davido of knowing about an alleged incident in which he was lured to Chevron in 2019 and pressured to join a secret cult.

Brymo made the allegation during a recent interview on the ‘Lahor Talk’ podcast.

The development comes about one month after the singer responded to a statement by Burna Boy about his music career.

DAILY POST had reported that Burna Boy, in a diss track, mocked Brymo’s career with the line, “Hustle make you no go fall off like Brymo.”

Reacting to the remark in July 2026, Brymo vowed to seek revenge and said he was unconcerned about the fraternity to which Burna Boy belongs.

Brymo has now alleged that Burna Boy, Davido and 2Face were connected to the circumstances surrounding an incident in 2019 when he was allegedly invited to Chevron under the guise that he was going to be hosted, only to be pressured to join a cult.

The singer made the claim while responding to a question about whether he would forgive Burna Boy if the Grammy-winning singer apologised for his remarks about his career.

Brymo interrupted the interviewer before the question was completed, stressing that he was not seeking an apology from Burna Boy.

Explaining the source of his long-standing disagreement with the three musicians, Brymo alleged that he was lured to Chevron in 2019 under the pretext of being hosted before those involved allegedly pressured him to join a cult.

He also challenged 2Face, Davido and Burna Boy to publicly deny his allegation, claiming that their names were mentioned by the people who were allegedly pressuring him.

The interviewer asked, “Speaking of forgiveness, if Burna Boy takes back the statement he made about you.”

Responding in Pidgin English, Brymo said, “Which forgiveness? I don’t have forgiveness on Burna Boy, 2Face or Davido. I want them to tell me that they truly don’t know about wetin happened to me for Chevron or not.

“When I got attacked. When I was lured into being hosted. Only to be told that I need to join cult. And they mentioned their names. Why are they still quiet about it since all these years if you’re not involved?

“This year 2026 is the 7th anniversary of the incident. It happened in 2019. I’m not asking for an apology. Just be a man and say, ‘Brymo, I have nothing to do with it.’ That’s what they have to say because as long as they don’t say that, they did it.

“I will keep saying it till it destroys your legacy completely. You will speak up. I’m not asking for any apology,” he said.

Brymo’s claims remain allegations, and the singer did not provide further evidence during the interview to substantiate the alleged involvement of the three musicians.
