PIDOMNigeria Whistleblower Isaac Bristol Granted N5 Million Bail by Abuja Court Amid Public Outcry
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to journalist and whistleblower Isaac Bristol, who was identified by the Nigeria Police as the individual behind the PIDOMNigeria account on X.
PulseNets learnt that the whistleblower had been arraigned by the police on charges of money laundering, unlawful possession and dissemination of classified official documents, and cybercrime.
His arrest had ignited widespread discussions online, with Nigerians calling for his immediate release and condemning the continuous intimidation of journalists and activists.
Approximately a month after the incident, PulseNets reported that Justice Emeka Nwite granted Bristol bail in the sum of N5 million, with one surety in the same amount.

The ruling was in response to a motion on notice filed by Deji Adeyanju, who led Bristol’s legal team. A motion on notice, PulseNets learnt, is a formal request to the court for a specific action or decision.
In delivering his ruling, Justice Nwite ordered that Bristol’s passport be deposited with the court.
