If elected president, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has vowed to carry on President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption.
In order to combat corruption, Tinubu promised to keep up Buhari’s civil service reforms.
He made the commitment in Abuja when he unveiled his campaign platform.
If Tinubu succeeds Buhari in 2023, he promised that his administration would work to reduce waste in the federal service.
“We will continue the work of the current administration in reforming the civil service to fight corruption, reduce bureaucracy, streamline agencies and decrease inefficiency and waste,” the document reads in part.
Tinubu has come under fire for being dishonest and amassing unrecoverable money.
The former governor of Lagos has repeatedly declined to comment when asked who owned Alpha Beta, a private business that for a fee collects taxes on the state’s behalf.
He is rumoured to own significant shares in the corporation that took over the administration of the Lagos tax system while he was the governor of Lagos State.
