PRP Clears Donald Duke for 2027 Presidential Race, Approves 420 Candidates Nationwide
Former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, has been officially cleared by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) to contest as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections.
PulseNets learned that Duke’s clearance followed the conclusion of the party’s internal review process conducted by the Primaries Appeal Committee, which examined the outcome of the recently concluded primary elections before submitting its report to the NWC for approval.
Details obtained by PulseNets indicate that the party leadership subsequently ratified the committee’s recommendations, paving the way for Duke’s emergence as the PRP’s standard bearer for the next presidential election.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Muhammed Ishaq, the NWC also approved the results of the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly primaries conducted across the country.
Ishaq disclosed that all candidates produced through the party’s primary elections were cleared to participate in the 2027 general elections, with the exception of the Tarauni Federal Constituency primary in Kano State, which was nullified.
PulseNets learnt that the PRP is preparing to field a total of 420 candidates across various elective positions nationwide during the 2027 electoral cycle.
Speaking on the development, Ishaq said:
“In line with our dedication to being actively involved in the election process, the PRP is proud to have 420 candidates running for all the positions in the 2027 general elections.”
