Bake-A-Thon: Uniport Student, Mary A, Smashes Alan Fisher Guinness World Record in Epic Bake to Break

Port Harcourt — Mary Angel Afoma, affectionately known as Mary A, a diligent student at the University of Port Harcourt’s Department of Music, has achieved a monumental feat by breaking the Guinness World Record for the Longest Baking Marathon by an Individual. Mary’s incredible endeavor, dubbed “Bake to Break,” saw her persevere through an astonishing 73-hour baking marathon, setting a new standard for endurance and determination.

More than just a skilled baker, Mary A’s multifaceted persona shines through as an enterprising entrepreneur, devoted mother, and the founder of Eagle’s Foundation. Hailing from Amichi in Anambra State and residing in Port Harcourt, she embodies the resilient spirit and unwavering determination synonymous with Nigerians.

Under the meticulous planning of Mary Afoma and her dedicated organizers, every aspect of the event adhered to the stringent guidelines set by Guinness World Records. Physically, mentally, and medically prepared, Afoma demonstrated unparalleled resilience throughout the grueling challenge.

The much-anticipated “Bake to Break” commenced on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, at Helena Hotels on East West Road, Alakahia, Port Harcourt. Over the 73-hour marathon, Chef Mary tirelessly baked an array of delectable pastries, cakes, breads, and pies, captivating the hearts and taste buds of attendees.

The previous record for the Longest Baking Marathon by an Individual Alan Fisher, stood at 47 hours, 21 minutes, and 21 seconds. Mary A’s determination and perseverance shattered this record, inspiring countless others to pursue their passions with unwavering dedication.
