Dolly Parton Reacts to Reports of Being Miley Cyrus’ Distant Cousin
American country music legend, Dolly Parton, has responded to reports that she and pop star Miley Cyrus are seventh cousins. The family history website, Ancestry.com, revealed that Miley Cyrus shares distant familial ties with both Dolly Parton and the late Michael Jackson.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Parton expressed little surprise at the news, noting that Cyrus has always felt like family to her.
“We’re so close, Miley and I. I would’ve thought we’d have been at least third cousins, 10 times removed… It doesn’t surprise me because she does feel like family,” Parton commented, adding humorously, “I’m sure [Miley] will get a kick out of that!”

Miley Cyrus has previously spoken about how Parton serves as a role model for her, both personally and professionally.
